Remember to use a transparent Game Boy or Game Boy Color shell to display it in all its splendor.

(1) Remember to purchase the shell for the circuit. It’s up to your discretion whether to use the one for Game Boy or Game Boy Color; both are compatible.

(2) Could be optional. In case it’s necessary, it serves to reduce the side tabs that the circuit has. This depends on how faithful the shell is to the original; the tabs prevent the circuit from wobbling or shifting from side to side. If the circuit doesn’t fit into the shell, you’ll need to file the tabs slightly.

Frequently Asked Questions

This circuit can be used with another game, such as Tetris (Tetris 1)?

The circuit is designed to be used with Tetris DX. It might be possible to use it with other games that have the same components, but since the circuit has Tetris images, it wouldn’t make sense because it would look bad.

The circuit cannot be used with Tetris; the original Tetris game only had one chip instead of four, and the pins do not match.

Can this circuit be used with programmable chips?

I don’t know. If you can use programmable chips in the original game’s circuit, then you can also use them with this circuit.
